The future for the Central Kalahari Game Reserve does not look great. This area, like other savannas face several threats, which include global warming; humans; and overgrazing.
The structure of the savanna biome is controlled by the rainy and dry seasons. Scientists worry that is global warming continues as it has been that will be a huge problem for what lives in this particular biome. The animals and plants would not be able to survive with more heat and less rain. Not all the organisms will be able to adapt, either. Though tourism provides an economic boost for the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the introduction to vehicles, humans and pollutants can be very hazardous to the organisms in this area. Many animals are very low in numbers and by hunting them it jeopardizes the future of that savanna biome. There has to be a balance there of predators and animals for them to consume. Lions are top predators and when they are being wiped out of a region there can end up being too many deer, zebra, and other grass eating animals. This would result in overgrazing. With the upset in the natural balance, more and more animals will start starving to death. ("Savanna Biome")
